I say it all the time and I think people think its am unfair quick
to judge and many more... we don't have poor people, we just have stupid dumb and lazy people.
I met a banker who
is extremely creative...(yes creativity is what am all about)...she is creative
in every way..can write, design, make cakes, make hats, make dresses and
shoes...she does interior per time ..actually for fun and when she wants extra
change....
Did she just say
extra change????? I kept on thinking in my mind and not listening to her...so
when she wants loose change, she calls up someone, gets an opportunity to
re-design a house, and she gets paid good money.....JUST LIKE THAT.
It’s extremely
easy for her, but yet...she hates her job, wants to quit everyday, has issues
at work and at this junction I would like to add this jittery feeling
happens..BUT it happens to people who don’t know the next step.
She admitted that
she knew the next step, has a business she runs WELL, but yet is an operation
whatever in a crappy bank.
This is not a case
of lack of creativity, lack of talent, risk analysis or lack of
opportunity...this is a case of lazy. Lazy to chase her passion when she has
everything she needs including family support.

Okay another scenario,
I know a person who is making hit waves with money and publicity...but this
person is freaking lazy. too lazy to work harder, too lazy to strive for bigger
and better goals....comfortable is this persons zone, home, meal, water, cloth,
etc. what happens here is people don’t realize that the hardest thing in life
IS NOT GETTING SUCCESSFUL, IT IS MAINTAINING SUCCESS.
an so when this
person who is obviously not work on a sustainable future hits rock bottom (which
is sooooo predictable) the person starts to act naija film and say "once
upon a time, I had 10 cars, I could afford to travel the world...hmmmm....it is
the devil"
It’s no devil you
this lazy person, it’s as already said LAZINESS. Why be comfortable in one
position. The richest and most successful people in the world don't stop
brainstorming, coming up with new products, or making a mark on the society. So
why you?
Lazy is also
seeing an opportunity and not taking it due to what some oyinbo shrinks would
call 'LACK OF SELF ESTEEM' ...bullshit...its pure laziness. There is nothing
stopping from taking BOLD steps. Don’t claim your family, your self esteem,
race, culture, etc. this is the 21st century sweetie...do those things still
work???
Also and most
importantly, laziness is blaming the past, the future (yes I have seen that one
too), the government, NEPA, and what else again *rolls eye*
Nepa would be
nepa. The government of Nigeria is the government of Nigeria, the future...c'mon...the
past is the past. it’s called the past because and simply put...it is the PAST.
It is only meant to make you stronger, wiser, and smarter.
I always have a
friend...I know...but I know this guy....jeeeez.....even seeing him makes me
want to puke. The rate at which he complains, blames the past and future, his
family, his house, his address, his age, CHAI.... God help him ooooo....this
guy to me has no direction, no focus, no plans, no models (apart from animals),
no fighting spirit and most importantly no reason to be so negative.
This is both LAZY
and STUPIDIDTY combined in one body...oh yeah! DUMB as well.
The world
especially Nigeria is full of opportunities. Someone said to me one time, the
streets of Nigeria is paved with gold, you just have to wear your special
glasses (to some thinking caps…to me COMMON SENSE) to see it AND dig your gold
out.
Rich people are
not people with the largest balance in their accounts....according to my
discoveries so far...rich people have to following characteristics:
1. Smart: SMART says it all. They
know how to think, talk, walk, act right…just plain smart. They say look right,
left and right again when crossing the road (or is left right left) ...a smart
person looks both ways twice…even three times. In business, it’s called risk
analysis. In life it’s called life analysis, in the pool it’s called pool
analysis. In everything it’s called everything analysis, that’s being smart. Taking
your time to do things right and do them well involves considering all the
risks and analyzing how you would take them out, at least 80% and the other
20%, you can then battle it out (or did you think you wouldn’t get to battle?).
A smart person is also someone who can take the basic ideas in life and turn it
into a gold mine.
2. Creative: rich people are always
creative. Now I don't mean creative in terms of hand crafts and all…I mean
creative in ethnically hmmm 419???. That is being able to see the other angles
naive people fail to see. The angle that is always starring them right in the
face.
3. Reasonable: a rich person is
reasonable, and knows that every idea is a good idea but not the best idea. a
reasonable person would see an opportunity right there and would not take it
because of the risk analysis CARRIED OUT before taking the opportunity. This is
why we have people (like the 3 in 1 guy) who would insult people for not taking
a multi million naira contract, meanwhile the person who didn't take contract
knows the ''terms and conditions''. A reasonable person takes his or her time
to plan, because a reasonable person understands the most common quote
"when you fail to plan then you plan to fail''.
4. Fighters and go getters: hmmmmm can
a rich person doesn't take no??? Many of our rich big boys and girls are igbo
people and you wonder why!!!! An igbo man would not take no, especially when it’s
not coming from the right source. I watched a movie where a young was told he
could not see a lawyer by a secretary. The young boy went to the back of the
office waited to the end of the end for the lawyer, sneaked in and went to see
her at the car park. At the end of the movie the lawyer helped him win a multimillion
dollar lawsuit...all because he didn’t take NO for an answer. You have to recognize who is telling
you no, and know when the no is right and when it is wrong.
5. Positive: I cannot stress this,
and cannot write too much here. Why should i sef? Why on earth do we need to
beg you to be positive in thinking, in planning, in dreaming, in praying?????? Be
positive minded. There are days when am down and i wonder if my plans would
ever work. What happens when i start being doubtful, i see a million reasons
why I wouldn’t succeed. When i get off that mood and remind myself about the
power of positive thinking, i remember just ONE reason why my plan would work
and it beats the millions of negative reasoning. you need to be positive in
everything you do. You never know who is watching you. it might not be because
of your initial plans an investor invests in you, it would be because of you
CAN-DO spirit.
7. Willingness to learn:
hmmmmmmmmmmm...I’ve been to many many seminars. Seminars with people with the
most respect in the country and seminars with others...and then I went for this
one, where one of the guest speakers was practically booed by the audience,
because this guest speaker from my view has not taken the time to learn. No
matter the post you're in, the country, the situations...take time to learn. Not
degree learning, although that is EXTREMELY important, but learn. Attend
seminars…free o..ticket o...sha attend. Browse, read, watch movies, and really
watch movies. Don’t only watch because it’s a block buster or the latest film. After
all the paparazzi, watch and try to apply common sense in what you watch.
in other words, don’t
be lazy like my comfortable, stupid, dumb and lazy like my 3 in 1 friend, lazy
like the banker with the greatest opportunity and support....
Be rich like
.................. please take your time to fill in whoever you think is rich
to you, with all the characteristics and much more.
